Hey guys, hope everyone has been well.
I'm getting the hang of blogging again and think this will be a better year for updates.
We released a small run of lighters on the website, and people seem to like them.I don't smoke, but it seems like a good tool for burning Abba Zabbas before you dip them in peanut butter, and lighting scented candles-- I'll let the rest of you decide how you'll use them individually when you get yours.
The last time there was a post, I can't say I knew what to type. It's weird owning a business in the sense you can't just spout off random things without someone getting offended, but people can do it to you at will.
We make really fun clothes that inspire people to do and be more, but sometimes it can be a downer trying to address things that are really important to you and also speak to the fans from the perspective of a human instead of a business.
All of you are so different, but most of you have a common thread of not being jerks. It's cool to have fans like that, the ones that really "get you";even when we're not around as much or someone is confused or misinformed about anything, you guys go out of your way to help one another,in turn helping me.Thank you..
I've been planning some fun for a while and now that some of the less fun stuff is out of the way, we should be seeing some more of what made you a fan of us come to life.
Our Snapchat is the best platform to catch all things HH currently, with instagram,Twitter and the fan page being the other way to avoid missing anything, now with the blog too it will end up being quite a busy next few months.
A lot of people are asking us about events, the best way to hear about which ones we are attending is probably the newsletter. The suitcase thing is fun and I still do it from time to time, but it's way more convenient for both myself and fans to have a solid place to look for one another. So, I'm doing a better job of making things easier and also open to hearing from the fans about where you'd like to see us!
Something else that's been happening more than a handful of times is new fans approach me with full knowledge of Hungry Human. It's almost like there's a different dimension with people that are watching everything we do that we aren't aware of -- thanks Internet! Either way, it's cool to meet all of you and feel free to do what the other fans do and reach out via social media if you have any questions.
That's all the ramble I have in me for the day, but hope to see some of you guys are Nor Cal Regionals this weekend in Sacramento ! Bring burritos! -h_h-

Hey guys! As always, it's been a bit....sorry!
I have a habit of drawing up into the fetal position and crying uncontrollably a few months at a time just to keep my chakras pure and it can take a toll on the bloggage from time to time. But I hope you've all been well!
We've been receiving a ton of fan emails lately and they're not the kind I've been used to.The usual fan email says something to the effect of
-"hey love your brand, keep doing what you're doing"
-"hey,love your brand and despite not reallllly knowing anything about it, but hey I'd like to propose a business opportunity..!!"
or "hey I just saw this old shirt and I really want it! Give me that now, I don't care about space and time, I want that shirt!"
,there are other variations, but those are the top 3 that come to mind. But once again, the last round of emails have been none of those.
You guys have been reaching out lately just to see how I am.I wasn't really expecting that, but I guess a lot of people pay attention and can tell when something's going on...or when you suspect there is.
All is well in the world and continues to be, I've just been in deep thought.
This might sound weird, but I have to plan my thoughts out.Probably like someone on a diet cooks their meals ahead of time for the week? That's how I think.Otherwise the thoughts get jumbled and you forget where you were between videogames, pantones, and less fun stuff like admin or sending out emails.
The latest stuff hasn't been so great and requires a bit of extra energy to think about.Stuff like equality, justice, race relations in America, I don't know where they really fit in a streetwear blog run by a Street Fighter player with trust issues,so I let them stew until I can mangle them into something coherent.
I've had the luxury of having some really understanding fans reach out and just share how much HH means to them during all of this.To the point that I just felt I had to say , "thanks for being a fan".
You guys are all awesome, and you really encompass the brand.
I've always tried to make it a point to deal with people that are great or who would like to be and it shows when I get a picture of Will's bacon jam with an HH sticker on it, or I run across a fan photo or sticker sighting somewhere far off.
Authenticity is hard when you're dealing with the public and the masses. It's delicate enough for me to pause from time to time and just wonder what the heck I'm doing or second guess my words, so thank you for the kind words, concern, and comfort you've all given by supporting us and really trusting us to do what we do best: make cool stuff and share our collective stories.
This all mean a lot and despite it being text, I hope it comes across that we're grateful for you.I'm grateful for you.
So,thanks.
Talk soon. -h_h-

It's been a while since we've given a recap.So here goes.
Christmas has passed and it's a new year.WIth everybody making new resolutions,I'm still trying to complete my old ones.
I took some time off from HH to worry about some bigger life matters and when I had time came back into the brand slowly. The most surprising thing was that the fans that were with us initally were still around alongside countless others that I had met along the way while just maybe doing something simple like talking about HH in a coffeeshop or while getting a haircut. So it was like a mini reunion in that sense, but with new guests who were "kind of" invited, but you didn't know were going to show up.
We released a piece of Better Together in late November/early December. It proved to be tougher than I expected as crewnecks are hard to come by during the last quarter of winter and also Christmas made everything ten times more chaotic than it would have been a few months prior.
One of the biggest experiences I took away from this last series of events is that a crapload of stuff can and WILL go wong at opportune times, but you have to push through them when your goal is loftier ,as you may not have time to come back to whatever you planned to do later.
I used to have the luxury of being able to put some things off, but our best strides have always come from just powering through whatever needs to done as soon as humanly possible. Then, on to the next one.
The cool thing about Better Together is that it was such a long time coming I think people almost got overexcited for it.We teased a phone case on Instagram a year and some change ago and everyone went nuts for it and the design. So, when they had a chance to get a hold of anything from that collection let alone another new piece of HH, they answered and picked a piece or two up.
I also had a catharses of sorts as during a lower time, people would always ask me about that design or even casually mention the phone case and express an interest in the brand. I used to be a bit wary of how much stranger liked HH and whether that was genuine, but from the emails you guys have sent, it looks like that has held true for many of you as well.
Now that we have some mojo back, I guess a lot of tension, or should I say "attention" has been just been going to improving myself.
Alongside seasonal depression and a few hurdles that can be left of the Internet, I think it was just an extremely rough little year. So, after coming back from a deficit energy wise, I'm more than happy to just "do stuff and make stuff" for my friends.
The stores are cool too. We've always gotten interest from retailers and passerbys, but I feel like the few partners we do have really get us and that leaves a bit more room for me to just worry about getting you guys awesome stuff that you want.
Also, it's way easier just to be candid saying that this isn't easy and maybe explain some of that to fans in blog posts and Instagram instead of hiding a shirt filled suitcase in shame when we don't have a vendor booth or aren't on a floating billboard throwing 500 shirts off of the Statue of Liberty in Times Square.
This is more of an investment into making great things that fans hopefully get behind and the focus hopefully can go to that instead of wondering whether or not I'm explaining too much on the Internet or shouldn't say anything at all. That's a heck of a lot of brainpower freed up! Phew!
As for the website, it's a bit split up.The old website lives on almost solely for the blog while the new one has a cleaner user interface and is a bit nicer for buying on mobile.
At some point they will probably all tie together, but for the time, it's a nice little improvement plus it has Sticks and Batter on the front....I mean, who doesn't like chicken and waffles?!?!??
Normally our blog posts end with something vague into "expect this" or "get on the mailing list".But it's way easier just to say: check us out in the shop and I hope we all make some progress towards our goals this year.Hope to impress you guys and also grateful for the time we've had so far together. Stay Hungry. -h_h-
